Matt Mayer, our VP of Due Diligence, is a key member of the SFA Partners team. With a rich background in the financial industry, Matt’s career spans several notable roles and companies, including Sprint and Berthel Fisher, where he focused on Due Diligence and Product Development. His journey has been marked by a dedication to researching products and resolving issues, which he now applies in his current role.

Matt earned his Bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University, where he first developed his interest in finance. He has held diverse positions over the years, from pizza delivery to bartending, and his experience includes a significant role at a non-profit aiding in city rebuilding after a major flood.

In addition to his professional work, Matt enjoys gardening, reading, and traveling, with Thailand being his favorite destination so far. He lives with his wife, Becky, their four children aged 16 to 22, and their dog, Walter.

Matt’s advice to those starting their careers is to listen more than you speak and to learn from those who have more experience. His commitment to problem-solving and continuous improvement makes him a valuable asset to our team.
